The English market continues to show interest in Evelina apples. These apples are not gritty; they have good flavour with sufficient sugar content. This is a crisp apple with a good shelf life, which can be sold for ten months a year. Upon first harvest, eighty percent of the crop can be harvested without colour problems.

Evelina has a uniform shape with an attractive rosy colour. Besides this, Evelina has the same strengths and weaknesses as Pinova, including:

• Secondary growth;
• Sensitive to powdery mildew, but not very sensitive to apple scab and cancer;
• Low resistance to pressure but damage will be less visible as a result of the uniform colour;
• Guaranteed annual production.
