Our apple varieties: Evelina, Kanzi, Granny Smith, Braeburn, Gala, Boskoop, Delbare.
Evelina The English market has shown clear interest in Evelina. This apple is not gritty, it has a good flavour and comes with sufficient sugar content. This is a crisp apple with a good shelf life which can be sold ten months a year. Upon the first harvest, 80% of the crop can be harvested without colour problems. More information.
Kanzi apples have a uniform bright red colour; this is a new variety, a cross between Gala and Braeburn. Kanzi apples have a lovely sweet and sour flavour.
Granny Smith is a rather small green apple variety. Its flavour is tart and the texture of its flesh is crisp, making it a good variety for hand-eating, with a rather long shelf life.
Braeburn is a New Zealand apple variety, probably a cross between Granny Smith and Lady Hamilton. These apples are exported to the Northern Hemisphere from April until September. This apple is very firm and has a sweet taste. Braeburn apples can be stored for a long time without going soft.
Royal Gala is an imported apple variety and is mainly exported by New Zealand. This is a medium-sized, cone-shaped apple. It has bright red flushes over a yellow skin. Its taste is sweet, making it a good hand-eating apple with crisp cream/yellow-coloured flesh. Royal Galas are also an excellent ingredient in desserts and salads. They can be obtained throughout the year from various exporting countries.
A "Schone van Boskoop" is a large, gritty apple, grey-green in colour with a russet hue. Its flesh is acidic and firm; it is the best cooking apple. Moreover, connoisseurs appreciate it as a hand-eating apple. It is used in the kitchen from September onwards and is at its best as a cooking apple from December until April. This is the only variety with such high levels of vitamin C, fruit acids and sugars.
Delbare estival is a more recent apple variety, originating from the cross between Stark Jon Grimes and Golden Delicious. The skin of these apples is yellow-golden with orange stripy blushes. Medium to large in size. This is an early autumn apple. Available from August until December.
